Jamie Vine, Founder & Chief Executive of Perth-Based serviced office provider Liberty Executive offices, is one example of an entrepreneur who saw an opportunity to meet the needs of businesses looking to embed a local presence.

There is an old saying that one stick is easy to snap but when bundled together, many similarly weak sticks become much stronger and impossible to break. It’s the premise for countless fairytales and Hollywood films. And something we teach our kids in school everyday. In life, we will all have to share spaces with people that we wouldn’t ordinarily choose. Whether it’s sharing a room with a sibling as a youngster or a classroom with schoolmates. It’s part of growing up to learn the things that we should and shouldn’t do when in a confined space with other people. Indeed, St Benedict even wrote books on the matter that formed the basis of the monastic movement. One of the main principals of living in a monastery is to learn tolerance and understanding that can only be achieved by sharing space with other people.

How much time do you actually spend each day at work really working? By the time you’ve got to work and settled in, made yourself a cup of coffee, said hello to your colleagues and answered your emails, an hour or so has probably gone by. You look at your ever-growing list of things to do and start at the top. Then the phone rings, it’s someone looking to speak to a colleague or other department in the business and they’ve got your number ‘from the internet’. You divert them to where they need to go and set about trying to remember what it was you were doing.
